Reveal Clinical Notes

Ultrasound was performed after CT.

Reveal Findings

CT- peripheral, round, ill-defined, hypodense right renal lesion.

US – round hyperechoic (solid) lesion.

Reveal Discussion

Second malignancies occur in 13-25% of children, usually 15 -19 years after treatment of the primary malignancy. Most second malignancies are sarcomas, leukemia or lymphoma. The etiology may be related to genetic cancer predisposition or therapy. Second malignancies with neuroblastoma is more common when the diagnosis of neuroblastoma is made before 1 year of age but is also associated with radiation therapy and the use of alkylating agents.
