Reveal Findings

CT – Sagittal and coronal reformats show sclerosis and irregularity of the posterior facet.

Reveal Discussion

Posterior talocalcaneal facet coalition is rare, much less common than middle facet and calcaneonavicular coalition, although this could be a reporting bias. Symptoms include pain, frequent ankle sprains, predisposition to stress fractures, rigid flatfoot. The humpback sign is related to osseous protuberance of the posterior superior margin of the calcaneus.
