Sinus Pericranii

CT – Paired parasagittal parietal foramina transmitting veins.

Sinus pericranii are calvarial foramina transmitting veins. Anomalous nonmuscular venous channels tightly adherent to the skull surface communicate with the dural venous sinuses through diploic veins. The transient increases in venous pressure lead to varicosities and enlargement of the calvarial foramina. Complications include cosmetic deformity (related to varicosities), headache, vertigo, and local pain.
