Multiseptated Ureterocele

US – Atrophic left kidney, hydroureteronephrosis and multiseptated intravesical mass.

Ureteroceles represent cystic dilatation of the intravesical segment of the ureter. Ureteroceles may be associated with either a single or a duplex ureter. The defect is obstruction of the meatus. The outer wall is composed of bladder epithelium and the inner wall of ureteral epithelium, with connective tissue and muscle fiber in between. A ureterocele may be small or fill the entire bladder and prolapse through the urethra. Ureteral duplication is present in about 75% of patients with ureteroceles. The multiseptated appearance in this case may be related to intramural redundancy of the dilated ureter and/or uneven intramural dissection of the dilated ureter.
