Orbital Dermoid Cyst

MR – Cystic lesion in the superolateral right orbit, associated with remodelling of the orbital wall and restricted diffusion.

Orbital dermoids are the most common developmental lesion of the orbit and account for 5% of all orbital masses. They appear most frequently in the upper outer quadrant of the orbit and in close relation to the frontozygomatic suture in older children. Dermoid cysts may be associated with gradual erosive changes in the adjacent bone (scalloping or fossa formation). Progression is typically slow. Dermoid cysts usually follow fluid signal on MR and restriction on diffusion weighted imaging.
