Diagnosis

Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm

Clinical Notes

Born with pulmonary atresia and ventriculoseptal defect treated by patch augmentation. Subsequently developed right pulmonary stenosis requiring angioplasty and stent placement.

Findings

CR – Right hilar vascular enlargement. Note the right aortic arch.

CT – Axial and coronal reformatted images show aneurysmal dilation of the right pulmonary artery.

Discussion

Wall shear stress is likely the hemodynamic factor that triggers the post-stenotic dilation response.
