Cervical Transverse Process Fracture

CT – Oblique sagittal fracture through the left transverse process of C7.

Transverse process fractures are likely related to lateral flexion and/or shoulder harness of the restraint belts. Most commonly this injury is found at the cervicothoracic junction and is not associated with neurologic injury or instability. Other spinal fractures are often present.
